  Not as nice as it was years ago. Filled with many souvenir shops. Pier Fries has been down next to Bill's Pizza for many years now. But the walk to the club at the end of the pier was worth the walk as Yo Adrian! was in town for the long weekend doing his comedy show.

  "The Pier" has been a landmark that sticks out in my head. I've been coming to OOB since I was a child, 24 years ago. I've watched this little Oceanfront town change in that time. Something that has always remained has been "The Pier". While the shops on The Pier may have changed the "vibe" certainly has not. Easy going family fun. As I've gotten older I can now go to "the end of the pier" a place I've waited to go since I was a kid (the end of the pier is a bar). The view did not disappoint (and neither did the drinks)! Good music, food and atmosphere make this a nice place to visit. Bathrooms are a little iffy out on the Pier, (there is one in the bar for patrons, one that is run based on donations during non-peal hours and I believe $.50 during peak hours. I recommend going -before- the Pier at the bathroom in Palace Playland (free, but not always clean) or one of the public areas where you do need to pay. The Pier can sometimes be crowded and cramped during peak hours so a stroller may not be advised. During the Summer fireworks are to be had each week (Thurdsdays I think) and are viewable from the beach nearby. Some vendors can be overpriced for the "hype" of being on the pier, but are on average comparable to other local shops. Drinks were decently priced for the area and the bar at the end was clean enough. Service was good and attentive. However, I recommend finding a better and less pricey meal in town away from the beach- If you want a nice sit down meal go elsewhere!

  Loved this beach. I like the beaches which have good number of waves coming in constantly. This is one of those beaches along with playing arcade and rides.
